Trump Becomes First Sitting President to Attend Super Bowl
President Donald Trump made history as the first sitting president to attend the Super Bowl, watching Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans as the Eagles defeated the Chiefs 40-22.
However, Trump left early, later criticizing the NFL’s new kickoff rule: “The worst part of the Super Bowl… was watching the Kickoff where the entire field is frozen, stiff.”
Before the game, he praised the event, calling it “a tradition that transcends our differences” and “personifies our shared patriotic values.” Security was heightened due to a recent attack in New Orleans.
