Comedian Paul Rodriguez, 70, was arrested in Burbank for alleged drug possession after a traffic stop. TMZ reports he was initially pulled over for a violation, but the situation escalated when officers searched his vehicle. Rodriguez, who was asleep in the passenger seat, claimed an officer, whom he described as “Caucasian,” slapped him awake. He insisted the drugs weren’t his and belonged to his friend, the driver. “I was roughed up,” he alleged, adding that he was arrested even after his friend admitted ownership.
Officials confirmed Rodriguez was cited and released for misdemeanor drug possession, with the case under review. However, they did not address his claims of misconduct.
This comes after a difficult period for Rodriguez, who recently lost his longtime friend Donald Serrato, who passed away at his home.
Rodriguez, whose career spans over 40 years, has appeared in major TV shows like *The Golden Girls* and *The Twilight Zone*, and voiced characters in *King of the Hill* and *Dora the Explorer*.
