The tragic death of 21-year-old Noah Hall in Barberton, Ohio, has left his family and community devastated. On April 15, 2025, a massive tree crashed into the home where Noah was sleeping, fatally striking him in his second-floor bedroom. Emergency crews arrived shortly after 11:15 a.m., but he was pronounced dead at the scene. “A nightmare,” said his mother, Ashley Hall.

Originally from Owensboro, Kentucky, Noah had just moved to Barberton for a fresh start and was working at a Wendy’s. Known for his kindness, Ashley described her son as “built like a teddy bear” who “always listened” and “made others laugh.”

Authorities believe strong winds toppled the 80-foot tree. Fire Marshal David Polacek urged residents to prepare for storms and have insurance. Arborist Lisa Devenport added that signs of tree decay are often missed “until it’s too late.”

Photos shared by Ashley show the destruction — the roof torn off, Noah’s room exposed. His roommate, who survived, said, “The house is just a house. But someone lost their life.”A GoFundMe campaign, with $310 raised so far, honors Noah’s memory: “He didn’t have a single evil bone in his body.” His funeral will be held on April 22 in Owensboro.
