Three symptoms during sleep that could signal cancer

The American Cancer Society states that “the number of people diagnosed with cancer in 2025 will be 2 million.” Cancer remains the second leading cause of death worldwide, just after heart disease. Timely diagnosis is crucial, and “listening to the signs the body sends is of huge importance.”

Night Sweats
While often caused by hormonal changes, infections, or fever, “excessive night sweats can also be a sign of something more serious, such as some forms of cancer” like lymphoma. If persistent, see a doctor.

Unexplained Pain or Discomfort
Sleep should recharge the body, but “persistent discomfort felt during the night may be a result of nerve pain” or artery issues. Some cancers can also “cause nerve pressure, which interrupts your sleep.”

Difficulty Breathing or Chest Tightness
“Chest tightness and difficulty breathing” at night could signal sleep apnea or heart problems, but persistent symptoms may point to lung cancer. Always get unexplained symptoms checked.

Listen to Your Body
“When your body gives you signs that something isn’t right,” don’t ignore them—consult a healthcare professional.
