America Welcomes Its First Pope
Cardinal Robert Prevost, 69, has officially been elected as the new pope, following Pope Francis’ death last month. He will now be known as Pope Leo XIV — making history as the first American ever chosen to lead the Catholic Church.
Former U.S. President Donald Trump quickly responded with praise, sharing on Truth Social:
“Congratulations to Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost… What excitement, and what a Great Honor for our Country… I look forward to meeting Pope Leo XIV.”
But not everyone has forgotten what Pope Leo XIV once tweeted about Trump.
