Henkel has recalled 1,068 bottles of Tec Italy Shampoo for dry and damaged hair due to contamination with *Klebsiella oxytoca*, a bacterium that “can cause serious infections such as pneumonia or sepsis,” especially in people with weakened immune systems.
The affected shampoo, labeled with lot code **1G27542266** and an expiration date of **May 27, 2027**, was distributed through several salon suppliers from a manufacturing facility in Mexico. So far, **“no illnesses have been reported.”**
The FDA categorized the recall as **Class II**, meaning the health risk is moderate. While *Klebsiella oxytoca* is normally present in the body, it becomes dangerous when it enters the bloodstream.
This incident follows a similar **January recall of another Tec Italy product** linked to possible E. coli contamination.
The FDA has not provided specific instructions for consumers to dispose of the affected shampoo.
