Romanian football is mourning the tragic death of 19-year-old Luca Manolache, a former rising star for Metaloglobus București.
Known for his passion and promise, Luca’s career was cut short by a mysterious illness that forced him to quit football in August 2024. He had suffered from dizziness, fatigue, and bloody stools, yet doctors couldn’t identify the cause.
Despite medical visits, Luca’s condition worsened. On February 28, 2025, he collapsed while with a relative and made a chilling final call to his mother, saying, “Mum, Mum, I can’t do it anymore. Do you think I’m dying?” He died shortly after. The autopsy revealed he drowned in his own stomach acid after vomiting blood—a shocking and horrifying end.
