Tests confirmed lung cancer. Though multiple treatment options were explored, Brian chose to have his right lung removed as the safest route.
He now advocates for early detection through the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation and wants others to act fast if they notice anything unusual.
“Go and see your doctor if you’ve got anything that you’re concerned about… We need early diagnosis,” he urges. “We don’t want it 3, 4, 5, 6 months down the line because… it’s then incurable.”
Brian also wants to break the stigma: “People think lung cancer is a death sentence… but it doesn’t have to be. I’m proof that it doesn’t have to be.”
