A dancer from Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime show has received a lifetime ban from the NFL. “A dancer who was part of Kendrick Lamar’s half-time performance at the Super Bowl has been with a lifetime ban, the NFL have confirmed.”
Lamar’s 13-minute performance at the Caesars Superdome featured SZA, Samuel L. Jackson, Serena Williams, and DJ Mustard. He performed 11 songs, including “Not Like Us,” which has surpassed 30 million views on the NFL’s YouTube channel. While he censored some lyrics, he still mentioned Drake amid an ongoing legal dispute with Universal Music Group.
Controversy arose when a dancer held up a flag reading “Gaza” and “Sudan” while standing on a GNX car before jumping down and waving it. Security quickly intervened, removing him from the stadium.
The NFL stated, “We commend security for quickly detaining the individual who displayed the flag… The individual will be banned for life from all NFL stadiums and events.” Roc Nation clarified that the protest was “neither planned nor part of the production.”
New Orleans police confirmed the dancer was ejected but faced no further legal action. The incident follows recent political statements from former President Donald Trump regarding Gaza.
