After 23 years of marriage and raising four children, Mary longed for a date with her husband, Jack. She felt worn down by her daily responsibilities, while Jack came home from work and relaxed in front of the TV.
One evening, Mary suggested, “Maybe we can go on a date? There’s a nice place that opened downtown.” Instead of feeling touched, Jack snapped, “Look at you! You look terrible. I’m not going anywhere with you.” He added, “I’m ashamed of you,” before walking out.
Jack went to his friend Samuel’s house, hoping to go to a bar. Samuel declined, saying, “Sorry, mate. I’m going on a date with my wife.” Jack admired Samuel’s wife, noting, “She’s beautiful, and you two look so in love!” Samuel replied, “I make every single day special for my wife. She deserves all the love and appreciation from me.”
Realizing his mistake, Jack returned home with a gift, apologizing, “I’m sorry for hurting you. Would you like to go on a date tomorrow?”
Mary smiled brightly, and their relationship began to heal. Jack now saw “the most gorgeous woman by his side,” and their renewed bond brought happiness to their family.
