At this point, it seems like a daily occurrence that the US President does or says something controversial. And on this occasion, he’s left people stunned with what he has hung up outside of the Oval Office.
Even for Trump, it’s quite the interesting choice of décor for the White House, and so has quickly gone viral after social media users noticed it.
During a meeting with India’s Prime Minister on Thursday (13 February), cameras captured Trump’s infamous mugshot framed in gold on the wall outside the Oval Office. It wasn’t just the photo but the New York Post front page featuring it.
Trump, a longtime fan of the paper, “used his [mugshot] quite a lot during his recent campaign,” turning it into a symbol of defiance for supporters. He even sold merchandise featuring it to raise campaign funds.
As the “first convicted felon to be US President,” Trump’s mugshot has drawn mixed reactions. Some called him the “hardest guy,” while others mocked his taste. One X user admitted, “that shit is fire,” but another wrote, “He’s always had poor taste. Not surprised.”
