The White House has sparked backlash after posting a “distasteful” deportation video. The clip, shared on social media, shows immigrants being handcuffed and escorted onto a plane, with the audio focusing on “the roar of the jet engine, the jingle of handcuffs,” and footsteps boarding the aircraft.
The video was slammed online, with one person calling it “one of the most disturbing things I have seen on the internet ever.” Another criticized it as “terrible optics,” urging authorities to “treat it with the dignity that befalls a human.” A third asked, “Why is treating human beings this way entertainment for you?”
Critics accused the White House of “glorifying” deportations, with one saying, “Isn’t this a little scary coming from the White House X page?”
The controversy follows a similar incident last month when the White House responded to Selena Gomez’s emotional post about deportations. They shared a video of mothers whose children were killed by illegal immigrants, stating, “Kayla Hamilton, Jocelyn Nungaray, and Rachel Morin were murdered by illegal aliens.”
Kayla’s mother, Tammy Nobles, said, “You don’t know who you are crying for. They didn’t cry for our daughters.”
