Amazon Takes Creative Control of James Bond Franchise
Amazon MGM Studios has struck a deal to “lead James Bond into the future,” gaining creative control of the iconic film series.
Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson will “remain co-owners,” but the BBC reports Amazon will now shape the franchise’s direction.
Wilson, stepping back after “nearly 60 incredible years,” said he will focus on “art and charitable projects.”
Since 1962, Eon Productions and the Broccoli family have overseen Bond, but this shift could mark a major change for the 63-year-old series.
