Apple cider vinegar (ACV) is often praised as a natural remedy for hair issues, from dandruff to dullness. Curious, I decided to test it overnight to see if it could “truly transform my locks.”
ACV’s acetic acid helps balance scalp pH, while its vitamins and antimicrobial qualities may reduce dandruff. I prepared a simple mix of equal parts ACV and water, applied it with a spray bottle, massaged my scalp, covered my hair with a shower cap, and left it overnight.
The next morning, “the unmistakable vinegar scent was quite strong,” but after rinsing, I noticed my hair felt softer and smoother. Once dry, it appeared “livelier, much less frizzy,” with a healthy shine. My scalp felt refreshed, and dandruff was reduced.
Scientific research supports ACV’s benefits. It balances pH, fights microbes, and removes product buildup. However, its acidity can cause dryness or irritation, so “it’s crucial to use it correctly.” Always dilute and test on your skin first.
Before this trial, my hair felt dull and frizzy, with persistent dandruff. After the ACV treatment, “the transformation was noticeable,” making me consider adding it to my routine.
