Donald Trump reveals Elon Musk’s ‘deep fear’ in awkward interview amid rumors their friendship is breaking down

The ‘bromance’ between Donald Trump and his ‘first buddy’ Elon Musk is still going strong, despite media rumors suggesting a fallout. Both men dismissed the claims in an upcoming Fox News interview with Sean Hannity. Trump said, “[The media] want you two to start – they want a divorce,” while Musk confirmed, “They are trying to drive us apart.”

Their friendship grew during Trump’s 2024 campaign, leading to Musk’s role in the Department for Government Efficiency (DOGE). Media outlets like The Washington Post and The New York Times were accused of trying to undermine Trump’s re-election but “they have no power anymore,” according to Trump.

Although their relationship has seen ups and downs—Musk called Trump “not the right guy” in 2016 and later said he should “sail into the sunset”—the two reconciled. Musk reinstated Trump’s Twitter account and donated $45 million monthly to a pro-Trump Super PAC.

By late 2024, they were spending “almost every day together,” with Musk jokingly calling himself “First Buddy.” Trump brushed off negative press, stating, “I get 98 percent bad publicity,” but insisted, “people get it” and see “what is happening.”
