Plane Catches Fire After Landing, Two Dead
A small aircraft crash-landed and caught fire near Novolikeevo, in Russia’s Kstovsky district, killing two people, authorities confirmed Thursday.
“A small plane made a hard landing and caught fire,” the Russian Emergencies Ministry reported.
Emergency teams quickly responded, deploying “six personnel and two units of equipment” to extinguish the flames.
Investigators and the transport prosecutor arrived at the scene as authorities launched a probe into the Vans RV7 crash.
A criminal investigation is underway under Article 263 of the Penal Code for violating air transport safety regulations.
