Adam Sandler frequently casts the same actors in his films, creating a close-knit group of friends on and off-screen. From Grown Ups to Hotel Transylvania, he regularly collaborates with David Spade, Kevin James, Steve Buscemi, Chris Rock, and Rob Schneider.
Speaking about Grown Ups, Sandler told Collider, “The whole idea was about putting together old friends.” Spade joked on Rob Lowe’s podcast, “He assembled a team like the Golden State Warriors.”
Sandler also includes family in his films, with his wife and daughters appearing in That’s My Boy and You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah.
Despite critics, Sandler insists, “I got into it to make people laugh and have fun with my friends.”
