If You’re Still Smoking Weed at 30, Scientists Have Bad News

A study from The University of Queensland suggests that marijuana use after age 30 may negatively impact success in areas like income, education, and happiness. Researchers tracked over 8,000 mothers and 2,000 children, finding that while younger users showed no major setbacks, those over 30 experienced “lowered success rates.”

The study defined success using markers like homeownership and relationship status, but these may not reflect everyone’s perspective. Researchers also noted that the findings apply only to Australian women and may not be relevant globally.

Additionally, the study didn’t account for other drug use, admitting its results could be influenced by “polydrug use” rather than just cannabis.
