Donald Trump has just signed new executive order for healthcare prices that could have massive impact on patients

Donald Trump has introduced a new executive order aimed at increasing transparency in healthcare costs. “It is one of the biggest things that can happen to reducing cost and healthcare,” he stated. The order mandates healthcare providers and insurers to publicly disclose prices, allowing patients to compare costs before treatment.

Trump sees this as a revival of his 2019 policy, which Biden had revoked. “Biden ended it immediately upon coming in, which was a terrible travesty in my opinion,” he said, emphasizing that his new version is even stronger. He argued that patients should be able to “go out and negotiate with price,” which was previously restricted.

While Trump claims this will lower costs, industry groups argue it may have the opposite effect, increasing premiums. Hospitals have also pushed back, saying public price disclosures violate their First Amendment rights and weaken their bargaining power.

Trump acknowledged that the policy might not favor pharmaceutical companies or hospitals but insisted it would ultimately benefit patients. “If you have a great hospital that really knows what it is doing, it is actually great because everyone wants to go there,” he explained.
