My Husband Refuses to Shower More Than Once a Week, It’s Gross

Maintaining good hygiene is essential, but for one woman, her husband’s habits have become a serious concern. *“My husband works five days a week but only showers on weekends,”* she shared. At first, she let it go—he changed clothes daily and didn’t smell. But once she started working from home, things changed.

Over time, his lack of hygiene began to bother her, especially after he switched to a labor-intensive day job. *“It grossed me out,”* she admitted. When she became pregnant, she asked him to shower more for the baby’s health. He agreed, and things improved—for a while.

After the baby was born, his old habits returned. *“It made me cringe. I was worried about germs and bacteria that could harm the baby,”* she wrote. One night, overwhelmed, she called him *“gross”*—a moment she instantly regretted. Shockingly, he claimed he never agreed to shower more, leaving her in tears.

Later, she learned he had been using alcohol to clean himself. His reasoning? *“I don’t want to wash off my manliness.”* Now, she insists on showers due to health concerns, but he continues to dismiss her. She’s left wondering, *“Am I expecting too much?”*
