Boy, 6, di es after showing symptom nearly all kids experience

The Menai-Davis family’s life changed forever in September 2021 when their 6-year-old son, Hugh, died from rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare, aggressive cancer. After six months of treatment, Hugh briefly beat it, ringing the hospital bell in May to celebrate.

But the joy was short-lived. Months later, a “swollen stomach—first thought to be a virus” revealed the cancer had returned. Despite more treatment, Hugh’s condition worsened, and he passed away just three months after his remission.

Throughout his battle, Hugh remained “brave and smiling,” while his parents, Frances and Ceri, surrounded him with love.
In Hugh’s memory, they founded the charity *It’s Never You*, dedicated to supporting families facing childhood cancer.
They now urge parents to “trust their instincts and seek help early,” reminding everyone that even the smallest signs can be crucial.
