Nicole hopes Winry’s story helps parents talk to their kids about differences and representation. CMN can increase the risk of skin cancer, so Nicole and her partner take precautions like sunscreen and hats. “Her health and happiness are our top priority… I know our regular dermatology appointment is probably going to be our best friend growing up,” she said.
Still, Nicole’s biggest concern is bullying as Winry gets older. Despite it all, Winry is a joyful child. “She just radiates joy. She’s almost always laughing or shrieking,” Nicole shared. “She tells you like it is… and she’s already getting a little bit of sassiness.”
Nicole continues to advocate for acceptance and hopes Winry grows up proud of who she is.
