Typhoon Helene is expected to strike parts of the U.S., especially Florida, by Thursday, September 26.
The National Hurricane Center has classified it as a Category 4 storm, warning of severe damage.“It’s September, which must mean a certain something… typhoons battering enormous pieces of Florida and causing utter obliteration,” the article states, setting the tone for the storm’s intensity.
The storm surge could rise as high as 20 feet in some areas, especially along Florida’s Big Bend coast. “A disastrous and dangerous tempest surge is likely… alongside horrendous waves,” warned the hurricane center.
