Durex, one of the world’s most well-known c****m brands, was founded in 1915 as the London Rubber Company.
It began producing its own products in 1932 and quickly became a pioneer in the industry with innovations like anatomically shaped rubbers and electronic testing.
For years, many believed the name “Durex” stood for something cheeky like “during ***” or simply highlighted durability. But as the BBC revealed, “Durex is actually an acronym for Durability, Reliability, and Excellence.”
