A tragic event in India’s Barmer district has raised alarm about animal mistreatment in extreme weather. In 2016, temperatures reached a brutal 120°F when a camel, tied up without water or shade for hours, attacked its owner in a shocking turn of events.
The camel’s owner, Urjaram, had reportedly been inside entertaining guests when he “suddenly remembered his animal had been left outside,” Times of India reported. By then, witnesses said the camel was visibly distressed—pacing and growling in the heat.
When Urjaram finally approached to untie the animal, it snapped.
