Lead actors for Harry, Ron and Hermione announced for new Harry Potter series on HBO

HBO has officially cast the new trio for its upcoming Harry Potter series.

Dominic McLaughlin will play Harry, Arabella Stanton is set to portray Hermione, and Alastair Stout will take on the role of Ron Weasley. All three are newcomers, with McLaughlin having starred in Grow, Stanton previously playing Matilda on the West End, and Stout landing his first major role.

“After an extraordinary search… we are delighted to announce we have found our Harry, Hermione, and Ron,” said showrunner Francesca Gardiner and director Mark Mylod. Over 30,000 young actors auditioned for the roles.
