Earlier this month, Alina Habba, former Trump lawyer and current White House counselor, sparked controversy on Fox News with comments about federal staffing under a future Trump administration.
Speaking with Sean Hannity, Habba stated that Executive Branch employees who don’t support an “America First” agenda would be removed. Hannity backed the idea, asking why Trump shouldn’t be able to choose loyal staff, citing opposition from officials like Special Counsel Jack Smith.
Habba didn’t hold back: “To all the liberals freaking out—yes, let’s get started.” She criticized what she described as political bias within federal agencies, calling the current climate one of “injustice” and legal “politicization.”
She suggested that alignment with Trump’s vision would be essential for anyone working in a future administration, hinting at major changes in how federal employees might be selected.
The remarks have fueled debate over the balance between political loyalty and institutional independence in government roles.
