Following the Hanoi incident with his wife, Emmanuel Macron also addressed other rumors spreading online.
One image showed a tissue on a table during a meeting with UK PM Keir Starmer and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. Social media users claimed it was cocaine.
“For three weeks… people think I shared a bag of cocaine, had a fight with the Turkish president, and now I’m having a domestic dispute with my wife. None of these are true,” Macron said.
He acknowledged the footage was real but insisted, “The stories people made up are not.”
Macron’s public image took a hit from these claims, but he appears to be brushing them off as exaggerated online drama.
