The family’s attorneys argue the parole revocation was a mistake. “They were not given any reason… no allegations of wrongdoing,” said attorney Gina Amato. The family is fighting to reinstate their legal status and has launched a GoFundMe campaign, raising over $25,000.

“This is a textbook example of medical need,” Brown emphasized. “The system should be protecting children like Sofia — not abandoning them.”

Despite their struggles, Sofia has shown progress, exploring the world outside the hospital for the first time. Her parents remain hopeful she will eventually no longer need supplemental feeding.

The family’s future remains uncertain as they await a decision from immigration authorities. Meanwhile, they focus on keeping Sofia’s treatment uninterrupted and her hope alive.
