A shooting at a home pool party in Mountain View, North Carolina, left one person dead and 11 others injured early Sunday, June 1.
Authorities responded around 12:45 AM to a residence on Walnut Acres Drive, about 55 miles northwest of Charlotte. The Catawba County Sheriff’s Office confirmed, “One of these reported victims is deceased. Another… is in critical condition. Several others remain hospitalized.”
Roughly 100 people, including minors, were at the party. A witness told WBTV that the shooting “occurred mostly outside and appeared to be random.” The crime scene spans several areas, including front and back yards and a nearby property. Investigators say multiple weapons were involved.The identities of the victims and their relationship to the residence remain unclear. No arrests have been made, and no suspect information has been released.The sheriff’s office and Hickory Police are working with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation to find a motive and identify those responsible.
