Two Arizona teens, 18-year-old Pandora Kjolsrud and 17-year-old Evan Clark, were found dead on May 27 in Tonto National Forest, near Mount Ord.
Authorities confirmed their deaths as homicides, likely from gunshot wounds, after they went camping over Memorial Day weekend.
The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office called the deaths “suspicious” and stated they are conducting “a thorough and careful investigation to ensure justice for the victims and their loved ones.”
Evan’s mother, Sandra Malibu Sweeney, shared an emotional message on GoFundMe: “Evan was taken from me last week… it is impossible for me to imagine my life without him.” She described him as “witty, intelligent, compassionate… a gentle, affectionate old soul.” He had given her a heartfelt letter on Mother’s Day, which made her “laugh and cry.”Pandora’s GoFundMe described her as “a bright light in this world,” someone who loved animals and had a special bond with her dogs. “Her vibrant personality and contagious smile made a lot of people happy.” She enjoyed music and outdoor adventures like hiking, kayaking, and horseback riding.
Loved ones are raising funds to support both families during this tragedy.
