A British man, Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, has miraculously survived the deadly Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad on 12 June. The flight, carrying 242 people—including 53 Britons—crashed into a residential building shortly after takeoff.
Initially, police reported that there were “no survivors,” but Ramesh was later found alive and taken to hospital with chest, eye, and foot injuries. He recalled to the *Hindustan Times*, “It all happened so quickly,” and described the moment: “I heard a loud noise… there were pieces of the plane all around me.”
“When I got up, there were bodies all around me. I was scared. I stood up and ran,” he said. A bystander helped him get into an ambulance.
Ramesh’s family in Leicester confirmed he called them, saying he was “fine,” though his brother Ajay, who was also believed to be on board, is still missing. “I have no idea how I exited the plane,” Ramesh told his brother.
His other brother, Nayankumar, told the *BBC*, “We were just shocked… he was pretty much covered in blood.” Air India and officials continue to assess the number of casualties.
