A billboard in Calvert County, Maryland, features cartoon images of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris in piles of feces, with a pro-Trump message: “DON’T BLAME TRUMP! YOU ARE STUCK WITH THESE TWO (expletive) HEADS!!!” While some support it, many find it offensive.

Jeanette Flaim, chair of the Calvert County Democratic Central Committee, is pushing for its removal, stating, “It’s just vulgar. Kids are going to school, and they’re going by it every day.” However, legal precedent may protect the sign under free speech laws.

County commissioners say they cannot intervene due to the 2015 Supreme Court decision in Reed v. Town of Gilbert. Buddy Hance, Board of County Commissioners president, explained, “You know this country was built on the foundation of free speech, and sometimes we like what that free speech says, and sometimes we don’t.”

Flaim acknowledges the billboard’s pro-Trump stance but argues its language and imagery are inappropriate. “We have not complained about any other signs,” she said. “It’s this sign we think is… damaging to all of us.”

The person behind the billboard has not responded, leaving questions about their intent and whether public pressure will lead to its removal.
