Could This New Virus ‘Threaten All of Mankind’? Experts Are Concerned

Scientists who predicted COVID now warn of a new virus threatening humanity. The “Camp Hill virus” was found in shrews in Alabama, raising concerns due to its relation to Nipah and Hendra viruses, which have up to 70% mortality rates. “I was stunned to read that scientists…warn about a fresh pathogen.”

Researchers discovered the virus in frozen shrew organs collected in 2021. Spotting henipaviruses in North America is rare, and experts fear other similar viruses may be undetected. “Nipah…can lead to severe respiratory problems, seizures, and inflammation of the brain.”

There’s no evidence the virus can infect humans yet. Lead researcher Rhys Parry states, “There’s no confirmed human infection…and the chances remain unclear.” However, Dr. David Dyjack warns that if the virus jumps to humans, it could cause widespread kidney damage and threaten mankind.

Public health experts urge caution. The virus’s connection to high-mortality relatives highlights the need for vigilance. Dyjack emphasizes, “If a virus with a 70% fatality rate found an efficient way to spread among humans, that could mean very big trouble.”

While there’s no immediate danger, staying alert to emerging pathogens is essential to prevent future outbreaks.
