President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy clashed during a tense meeting at the White House’s Oval Office on February 28. The heated exchange quickly gained attention online.
During the meeting, Trump told Zelenskyy he ‘should be thanking the president.’ Zelenskyy responded, “Have you ever been to Ukraine? Seen what problems we have? Come once.”
Trump interrupted, saying Zelenskyy is in “no position” to dictate what the U.S. might experience. “You’re gambling with the lives of millions of people! You’re gambling with World War Three!” he added.
After the meeting, Trump addressed the confrontation on Truth Social. He wrote, “President Zelensky is not ready for Peace if America is involved… He disrespected the United States… He can come back when he is ready for Peace.”
The altercation sparked mixed reactions online. One user called Trump’s behavior “completely disrespectful,” while another praised Zelenskyy as “the only leader in the room.”
