Multiple kids trapped in wreckage after school bus rolls over on way back from field trip

A devastating bus crash on I-77 in South Carolina left multiple children injured after a school bus carrying 35 students and two adults from Pine Ridge Middle School flipped over on Thursday.

The group was returning from a field trip when “the bus reportedly blew a tire, causing it to topple onto its side in the middle of busy traffic.” Emergency responders rushed to the scene, with five medical helicopters dispatched to assist.

Several students were trapped inside the wreckage and had to be rescued before being taken to nearby hospitals. “Aerial images captured the chaos, showing the overturned bus surrounded by emergency vehicles.”

Authorities confirmed multiple children were hospitalized, though the full extent of injuries remains unknown. The local community is deeply shaken, with parents, teachers, and first responders offering support.

An investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the crash, as officials work to ensure help for the victims and their families.
