McDonald’s Accused of Religious Bias
In August 2017, a Muslim family from New York accused a Decatur, Alabama, McDonald’s of adding bacon to 14 McChicken sandwiches—“which their faith forbids.”
CAIR’s Khaula Hadeed called it “intentional religious and ethnic bigotry,” adding, “This doesn’t sound like a mistake, especially on 14 sandwiches.” One family member reportedly vomited after discovering the bacon.
Social media was divided—some called it offensive, others doubted the claim.
CAIR demanded an apology, investigation, and accountability to prevent future incidents, highlighting ongoing tensions around “faith and discrimination in public spaces.”
