**Tragedy in Panola County: Teen Killed in School Bus Crash**

A tragic crash in Panola County took the life of 18-year-old Katelyn Ray on Wednesday morning. While driving to pick up her sister, Katelyn’s car collided with the back of a South Panola school bus on Highway 15 near Highway 6.

Her mother, Shelia Ray, recalled their last conversation as full of love, saying, *“She said she loved me, and I told her I loved her too.”* When Katelyn didn’t arrive, her family became worried. Her sister, Courtney Pettit, took to social media to ask for help, but hours later, state troopers confirmed the heartbreaking news.

Katelyn had been studying for her GED at the WIN Job Center. Described as vibrant and kind, she leaves behind a grieving family and community.

This devastating accident has left many mourning the loss of a young life filled with promise.
