Elon Musk’s son, X Æ A-12, caused a stir during a White House press conference with Donald Trump. The four-year-old, called X, interrupted his dad by making faces, climbing on him, and wiping his nose on the Resolute desk.
As Musk, 53, and Trump, 78, discussed an executive order requiring federal agencies to support cost-cutting efforts led by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), X told someone off-camera to “shut your mouth.” Musk joked, “I thought my son might enjoy this, but… he’s sticking his fingers in my ears and stuff.”
Viewers were unimpressed. One person tweeted, “America is a joke. Bringing a child to work during conferences is unprofessional.” Another added, “With all the money Elon Musk has, surely he can afford a babysitter!”
Grimes, X’s mother, criticized Musk, tweeting, “He should not be in public like this… I’m glad he was polite. Sigh.”
Musk, head of DOGE, faced backlash, with some calling the situation “unprofessional.” Reporters laughed, but many questioned Musk’s judgment.
