Travis Kelce had a heartbreaking reaction to Taylor Swift being booed during the Super Bowl on Sunday (Feb 9). The Kansas City Chiefs star, already struggling as his team lost 40-22 to the Philadelphia Eagles, saw his girlfriend face unexpected jeers when shown on the jumbotron.
Swift, ever the professional, remained composed despite mouthing, “Wait…what is going on?” in confusion. A source told MailOnline, “Travis was aware of Taylor getting booed and he felt helpless. Seeing the look on her face got to him… It broke his heart.” The crowd, mainly Eagles fans, seemingly saw Swift as a “traitor” due to her Pennsylvania roots.
Donald Trump also weighed in, posting, “Trump gets massive cheers at the Super Bowl while Taylor Swift gets booed. The world is healing!” on Truth Social. Kelce, reportedly disappointed, felt the dig was “unnecessary” after previously saying he was honored by the president’s attendance.
After Swift’s Grammy loss and Kelce’s Super Bowl defeat, the source noted, “It just hasn’t been a good week for them… but having her love gives him joy.”
Swift’s fans, however, defended her, with one writing, “She handled that with real class. A true queen.”
