A Star is Born in Tennessee

On a cold day in 1946, in the mountains of Tennessee, a little girl was born into a family of twelve siblings. Despite their poverty, her brothers thought she was “the most beautiful baby.”

While some neighbors claimed their struggles were no different from others, her family’s strong devotion helped them through hardships.

She inherited her father’s business sense and mother’s creativity and spirituality. These qualities shaped her future success. “I owe my accomplishments to both of them,” she later reflected.
