A United Airlines flight was forced to make an emergency landing after a rabbit became lodged in the right engine, causing a terrifying midair incident.
The Boeing 737, flying from Denver to Edmonton with 159 people aboard, experienced a loud bang shortly after takeoff. “A tremendous shake and a loud blast,” described passenger Scott Wolff, shook the plane as flames erupted from the engine.
Passengers saw bursts of fire behind the right wing, triggering panic. “Screams filled the cabin,” and video footage showed people rushing to the windows, while a woman shouted about the fire and babies cried.
Despite the fear, the aircraft continued to climb before the pilot made the decision to return. The emergency landing in Denver was successful, and no injuries were reported.All passengers were later placed on a different plane, which completed the journey safely to Edmonton.
