Amy Schumer jokingly claimed that John Cena was “actually inside her” during a sex scene in *Trainwreck* — a moment both stars remember with humor and discomfort.
In the 2015 comedy, Schumer plays a party-loving commitment-phobe who briefly dates Cena’s character, Steven, a fitness-obsessed guy. Their steamy scene became a fan favorite, in part due to Schumer’s wild commentary afterward. “It’s a whole universe, that butt… It felt like having a refrigerator on top of me,” she quipped, later adding, “I just did what I usually do when I have sex. Just lay there.”
Cena, on the other hand, called it “awkward” but explained that’s exactly what the filmmakers wanted: “They were essentially instructing me to ‘make it as awkward as possible.’” He admitted that performing such a scene was nothing like wrestling in front of a crowd: “There is nothing intimate about it. Absolutely nothing.”
Despite the discomfort, Schumer stayed in character, joking on an Australian show, “Because he was actually inside me. Who am I to stop him?”
After Cena elaborated on the awkwardness during a podcast, Schumer cheekily responded on Instagram: “John, how dare you… I’m in love with you.”
