Julianne Moore Speaks Out After Her Children’s Book Is Banned
Julianne Moore was shocked to learn her book, Freckleface Strawberry, was banned in some U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) schools.
On February 16, 2025, she took to Instagram, calling the decision “deeply personal” and blaming the Trump administration.
Describing the book as “a story about self-acceptance,” Moore said it teaches children that “we all struggle, but are united by our humanity.”
As a former DoD school student, the 64-year-old actress expressed disappointment that kids in similar circumstances “would not have access” to her book.
