NYU President of College Republicans Steps Down After Barron Trump Remark

The headline “NYU College Republicans resign” trended after their president, Kaya Walker, stepped down following comments about Barron Trump. Walker called Barron, now a freshman at NYU’s Stern School of Business, an “oddity” on campus and mentioned a professor’s remark that he “doesn’t really belong here.”

Her statements sparked backlash from Republicans, including the national College Republicans of America (CRA), who found the remarks “inappropriate.” Although CRA suggested Vanity Fair may have misrepresented Walker, they still criticized her comments.

The CRA, known for endorsing Donald Trump early in the primaries, defended Barron, praising his “resilience” and “courage.” They invited him to join their organization, calling him “the future of the conservative movement.”

With Walker’s resignation, NYU College Republicans are searching for a new leader. Barron continues his studies, gaining attention mainly due to his famous last name.
