Megyn Kelly hits out at Tom Hanks over MAGA skit on SNL that left Trump supporters furious

Megyn Kelly has slammed Tom Hanks for his SNL appearance, accusing him of portraying Trump supporters as “worth-nothing racists.” The controversy erupted after Hanks reprised his MAGA-voting character, Doug, during SNL’s 50th Anniversary Special.

In the sketch, Doug, wearing a red ‘Make America Great Again’ hat, hesitated before shaking hands with the host and joked about creating “White Jeopardy.” The segment went viral, drawing backlash from conservatives, including Kelly, who said, “Shame on him.”

Kelly argued Hanks’ career was built by audiences who never felt judged by him. “All of us… who went to see Forrest Gump, Big, and all the fun Tom Hanks movies and never once thought that he was judging them as stupid, rural, worth-nothing racists.” She also criticized SNL, claiming the show has been “anti-conservative, anti-Trump, pro-leftist” for years.

Author Walter Kirn, speaking on Kelly’s podcast, dismissed the skit as “terrible writing” and called Hanks “the big loser.” Social media reactions were divided. While some condemned the portrayal of Trump supporters, others praised Hanks, with one user saying, “Tom Hanks’ portrayal of the everyday racist MAGA voter was spot on and deserves every award.”

Tyla has reached out to Hanks’ representatives for comment.
