Georgie Swallow, 32, a content producer from London, was diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkin lymphoma at age 28. “I was working hard and constantly tired,” she said, brushing off symptoms like itchy legs, fatigue, and night sweats as stress or burnout.
After recovering from the flu, she noticed a lump on her neck but didn’t think much of it. “I thought it was just a swollen gland,” Georgie admitted. Over the next year, the lump remained, and her symptoms worsened.
Despite her growing concern, she avoided the doctor. “I was worried I’d be wasting their time,” she said. It wasn’t until her mother urged her to seek help that she finally went to a specialist.
Georgie was shocked to learn she had stage 4 Hodgkin lymphoma, a blood cancer. “It felt like my world shattered,” she recalled. She began intense treatment immediately.
Now in remission, Georgie urges others not to ignore persistent symptoms. “Your body whispers before it screams,” she warned.
