5 Concerning Red Flags That May Signal Colon Cancer

When TikToker Radwah Oda revealed her colon cancer diagnosis, she urged others not to ignore warning signs. “If you have any of these symptoms, please don’t panic, but do see a doctor. Advocate for yourself,” she said. Colon cancer can strike at any age and often advances silently.

1. Changes in Stool Shape
Thin, pencil-like stools may indicate a colon blockage. While occasional changes are normal, “speak with your healthcare physician if this change continues for a few weeks.”

2. Bathroom Routine Shifts
Sudden, persistent changes like frequent diarrhea or the constant urge to go can signal colon trouble. Radwah warned that these disruptions are often blamed on diet or stress but should not be ignored if lasting beyond two weeks.

3. Persistent Fatigue
Feeling constantly exhausted, even after good rest, may mean your body is fighting a serious illness. Fatigue that affects daily life deserves attention, especially with other symptoms.

4. Abdominal Pain
Radwah mistook her lower right-side pain for a tight bra. Consistent abdominal pain, especially on the left side, could suggest a tumor blocking the intestine and should be checked.

5. Persistent Bloating
Chronic bloating not eased by diet changes may signal a blockage. “Persistent or unexplained bloating can be one of the signs of colon cancer that shouldn’t be overlooked,” especially with other digestive issues.

Early detection saves lives.
