Could she stimulate the unexpected health crisis together?
Experts warn of a rising link between oral s*x and neck cancer, especially oropharyngeal cancer, now more common than cervical cancer in the UK and US. “In the last twenty years, the neck cancer has appeared in the West,” says Dr. Hisham Mehanna from the University of Birmingham.
The main culprit is human papillomavirus (HPV), typically known for causing genital warts. Mehanna explains, “The main risk factor is the number of partners of the oral s*x that the person had.” Those with six or more oral s*x partners are *8.5 times more likely* to develop oropharyngeal cancer.
Although HPV usually clears naturally, some people—especially with weaker immune systems—can’t fight it off. “In these cases, the virus continues to be replicated, integrates into a person’s bottom and may lead to cancer,” Mehanna wrote.
HPV includes over 100 viruses, most harmless. But in rare cases, it causes long-term infections that lead to cancer.
This troubling shift shows a need for awareness and prevention. “Experts increase the alarms of growing bond between oral s*x and the increase in neck cancer cases,” highlighting an urgent health concern shaped by changing sexual behaviors.
