In 2014, conservationist Paul Rosolie attempted a shocking stunt—to be eaten alive by a giant green anaconda—to raise awareness about Amazon rainforest destruction. “Seeing how quickly habitats were disappearing,” he said, he wanted to do something dramatic.
Rosolie wore a custom carbon fiber suit with cameras and oxygen, then provoked the snake to attack, all filmed for a Discovery Channel documentary. “I’m getting coils over me,” he said during the encounter. “She’s got my arms pinned. She knows there’s nothing I can do.”
As the snake coiled tighter and his breathing worsened, the team monitoring his vitals stepped in.
